Mother Ella Mae Sorrells Obituary

Ella Mae Smith Sorrells went home to Glory on October 6, 2019 at the age of 89. Ella Mae was born December 22, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Fred Smith and Rosa Brashear Smith. She spent all her life in Dallas, Texas where she attended public schools.

Ella Mae accepted Christ at a young age at Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Bailey.

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Rosa Smith; her loving husband, Inester Sorrells Jr. of 63 years; her brother, Aubrey Smith and sisters, Ernestine Jones and Leatrice Griffin.

Precious Memories remain with her three sons, Roland Sorrells, Michael Sorrells, and Inester Sorrells, III (Sandra); four daughters, Cherre Sorrells Walter, Sheila Dotson (Michael), Audrey Sorrells, and Ruth McGown (Sylvester); 16 grandchildren, Ciani Sorrells, Michelle Dennis, Vincent Odum, Tashawna Sorrells, April Sorrells, Chase Sorrells, Chérre Walker, Michael Dotson Jr., Ebony Reese, Marcus Dotson, Ashley Mitchell, Jeffrey Brigham II, Kristyl Crayton, Tiffany Dillard, Sylven McGown, and Kayia Simpson; fifteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Myretha Clark. Ella Mae was blessed with a host of other loving relatives and friends that loved her dearly.

"Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
