Lauren Beth Stanfill was born on December 7, 1956, in Chicago, IL, to Jolene Stanfill Wilson and William Peoples. She was the firstborn in a sib ship of two. Both mother and father preceded her in death.

Lauren was a graduate of George H. Westinghouse High School, then briefly attended a post secondary educational institution. She was employed by the Chicago Transit Authority and the Chicago Public Schools System for over 26 years.

Lauren was baptized and added to the body of Christ early in life at the Sheldon Heights Church of Christ, where she then became a member of the chorus and provided support to the Baptismal, Communion, Transportation, and Dining Committees. She was involved in the success of many fund-raising endeavors, ladies' day activities, and teachers' conferences. She was also an active volunteer for Mt. Sinai Hospital, the Chicago Public Schools System, and St. Jude Children's Hospital (locally).

On May 10, 2016, Lauren heard the Master Say "Well done thy good and faithful servant". She crossed over the finish line of this life and transitioned from earthy labor, to her heavenly reward. Her spirit will be greatly missed.

She leaves to hold dear the memories of her life one son, Justin Michael Stanfill (Kendra); one sister, Wendi Annette Stanfill; one darling granddaughter, Savannah Alexandria Stanfill; one godson, Aaron Martin Graham (Kendra); two aunts, Carolyn Turner and Ruby Stanfill. Lauren was blessed to have very close friends in her life, Denyale Boles, Charlesetta Nash-Buckley, and Linda Y. Sanders, whose beautiful children, Sydnei, Paige, Jessica, Airika, Kevin Jr., Javon, and Kayshia will surely miss.
Her favorite cousin, Clariece Michelle Hancock-Rogers, a host of dear and loving relatives and friends, and her church family, will feel the presence of her absence.
