Robert Fielding Obituary

On Saturday, September 16, 1967, during a pleasant warm fall evening in Haynesville, Louisiana, a son,   Robert Glen Fielding Sr. well known by “Coldfoot”, was born to Emma Jean Fielding –Lewis and Donald Holyfield.   He accepted Christ as his savior at a tender age and was baptized at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church in Haynesville Louisiana.  He then received his enriched upbringing, whereas he accomplished a formal education from Haynesville High School “Home of the Golden Tornadoes”.  Robert played football with the team and later graduated in 1987.

In 1988, he decided to pursue his passion to drive trucks.  Robert received his Commercial Driver’s License with endorsements and then went on to become an Owner Operator for 16 years thereafter.  He then, later changed his profession in 2013- until his departure, to be a Vehicle Transporter for E & R  Towing Company also known as United Road Towing.

Robert had a sincere love for God.  Upon arriving to Illinois he became a member and attended Greater Morning View Missionary Baptist Church, located in Chicago Illinois.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, football, some good food and the genre of the Blues.  He volunteered some of his time by serving on Markham’s Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency (EMA).  He was also a Masonic Third Degree of the Saint John Lodge.

Robert, “Coldfoot” was a country, strong, skilled full handyman.  He was funny, proud, and had a humble spirit about him.  He possessed an advanced soul that acquired many skills to live with a purpose.

On Monday evening December 5, 2017, like a twinkle of an eye, Robert departed his mortal life.  Robert’s wonderful life’s legacy is treasured by his high school sweetheart, and loving wife Tonya Fielding. They met on August 22, 1986 and later married on June 16, 1990.  From that Holy Matrimony one son Robert G. Fielding Jr.; two daughters, TreAña Fielding  and SoluAña Fielding  were born.

Robert has left behind his loving mother Emma Jean Fielding-Lewis, his father Donald Holyfield; three brothers Troy Fielding, Nathaniel Fielding (Jennifer), and Billy Moore, three sisters, Antionette Fielding, Betty McGraw, and Connie Stokes (Randall).  He leaves two sister-n-laws Sonya Bibbs, Roxann Holyfield and two brother-n-laws James Bibbs and Randall Stokes Sr.  Robert joins one brother who has preceded him in the death Donald R. Holyfield.  Robert has also left behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.
